The pause as advantage
The leap in AI is too dramatic to learn on the run.
There used to be an advantage for founders who jumped from company to company without stopping. Stay warm. Connected to the industry. Inside the loop. The gap between companies was seen as wasted time.
I think that is flipping.
AI is not another domain. It is a new operating layer. And that is hard to truly adopt while you are deep inside the 24/7.
We are used to learning while moving. But changing an operating layer requires focused time to experiment.
Maybe the founder who takes a real period between companies, and invests it in genuine basic training on how to build AI-native, comes back with a different kind of edge. Not just connections. Not just industry knowledge. A personal AI superpower.
Because the moment you are back inside the race, there is almost no room to build real depth.
Maybe the pause is not a delay. Maybe it is an advantage.
